Purpose of the Role

The primary objective of the P27 Shop Assistant is to support store operations during busy trading periods. You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for keeping shelves stocked, assisting customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and processing transactions efficiently at the till.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service Excellence

2. Point-of-Sale Operations

  • Accurately process cash and card payments
  • Handle lay-by transactions and customer refunds as required
  • Ensure your till is balanced and report any discrepancies to your supervisor
  • Maintain efficiency and speed while working at checkout

3. Merchandising and Stock Replenishment

  • Replenish shelves promptly to ensure product availability
  • Maintain attractive, accurate displays with proper pricing and signage
  • Monitor product levels and communicate stock shortages
  • Assist in setting up promotional displays during sales and campaigns

4. Housekeeping and Store Presentation

  • Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Maintain fitting rooms, shelves, and product displays to store standards
  • Ensure stock rooms and back-office areas are tidy and safe

5. Risk and Loss Prevention

  • Ensure that all items are properly tagged according to company policy
  • Remain alert to potential shoplifting or fraudulent activity
  • Participate in regular stock takes and inventory checks
  • Report any suspicious behavior to store management immediately

6. Company Values and Compliance

  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and brand values in every aspect of your work

Minimum Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays

Previous Experience

While prior retail experience is not required, it would be a definite advantage. Candidates who have worked in customer service, sales, or other shop assistant roles will be well-prepared to hit the ground running.
