Shop Assistant / Cashier

Introduction

We’re seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Shop Assistant/Cashier to join our team at Clicks The Greenary in Polokwane/Pietersburg. As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash and clubcard rewards.
• Provide customers with information on promotions, products, and services.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise and collecting payment.
• Ensure the safe handling of cash at all times.
• Proactively promote the Clicks’ clubcard and enroll new members.
• Deliver superior customer service by acting as a brand ambassador.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Basic math calculations and computer literacy.
• Knowledge of retail/FMCG principles, merchandising, and promotions.
• Understanding of stock management procedures and customer service excellence.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and cope with setbacks.

Ideal Candidate

• A Grade 12 certificate with Maths and English at 50% or higher.
