Purpose
YES is an innovative, business-driven initiative that collaborates with government and corporate entities to address a national strategy aimed at creating economic opportunities for African youth. This program empowers participants to actively engage and co-create a sustainable future. Given the significant challenges posed by youth unemployment in South Africa, it is imperative that the nation succeeds in this endeavor.
A single opportunity can often unlock the potential of a young individual. YES specifically targets previously disadvantaged youth aged 18 to 35 by offering a one-year work experience program. This initiative allows young people to showcase their skills, develop a strong work ethic, and demonstrate their worth. The outcome of this experience includes a professional CV, a reference letter, enhanced credibility, and an empowered individual equipped with access to social media platforms for future employment opportunities.
Upon commencing your placement, you will receive a smartphone. In addition to your work responsibilities, you will be required to engage with the YES app and complete 21 modules focused on work readiness.

What is required of you?
- You are expected to complete the training and demonstrate a commitment to work and learn for a duration of one year.
- A readiness to learn and acquire experience is essential.
- A grateful and positive demeanor is expected.
- You will enter into a Fixed Term Employment Contract, effective from 01 March 2024 to 28 February 2025.
- Punctuality in accordance with designated work hours is required.
- You must inform your supervisor or manager of any planned absences.
- Documentation, such as a doctor’s note, must be provided in the event of absence.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures is mandatory.
- Participation in all training sessions provided by the Company is required.
