Understand What the Programme Offers

The ECD Learnership Programme is designed to:

Train young South Africans in Early Childhood Development
Provide theoretical and practical education to become qualified ECD practitioners
Offer a nationally recognised qualification (NQF Level 4 or 5)
Help you gain valuable work experience at preschools or daycare centres

Before applying, make sure you meet the minimum requirements:

South African citizen
Aged between 18 and 35 years old
Grade 12 (Matric certificate) or equivalent
Interest in working with young children
Unemployed or not currently studying full-time
Willing to commit to the full duration (12–24 months)
Some programmes may require a criminal background check and/or health screening

You’ll need the following:

Certified copy of your South African ID
Certified Matric certificate
