
Customer Service Team Member Job Description
Overview
Are you friendly, reliable, and passionate about customer service? We’re looking for a Customer Service Team Member to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service, processing transactions, handling customer queries, and supporting day-to-day store operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Team Member, your typical duties will include:
- Greeting customers with a warm and welcoming attitude
- Recommending menu items, specials, and ongoing promotions
- Addressing customer concerns and escalating serious issues to the manager
- Delivering excellent customer service in a positive and professional manner
- Keeping the checkout area neat, clean, and well-organized
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors for smooth service operations
- Operating the cash register or POS system to process purchases accurately
- Handling various payment types (cash, debit, credit cards)
- Counting cash, balancing the till, and monitoring cash levels
- Packing, boxing, or wrapping products neatly for customers
- Adhering to store policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Receiving and unpacking stock deliveries
- Assisting customers with orders in person and over the phone
- Delivering orders to collection points (windows, counters, tables)
- Ensuring orders are correctly packed, labeled, and presented
- Taking phone orders promptly and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and orderly front-of-house area during your shift
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid Matric certificate
- Good command of the English language
- Residence within 10 km of the job location
- A clear criminal record
Preferred Attributes (Not mandatory, but beneficial)
- Prior experience as a Cashier, in Customer Service, or Front of House roles
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply
- Aged between 20 and 35 years
