Electrical Assistant

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Do maintenance checks in Production, Warehouse, and Office areas.
• Help repair motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, and wiring.
• Assist with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Use electrical testing equipment to find and fix faults.
• Gather all materials needed for repair and maintenance jobs.
• Prepare work areas for installations and wiring.
• Help build electrical control panels and install electrical points.
• Install new machines and do electrical terminations.
• Request consumables and get quotes for replacements.
• Spot safety hazards and take action to fix or prevent them.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (NQF4) or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License (Code EC).
• Certificate for Working-at-Heights is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of electrical tools and codes.
• Understand start/stop wiring and control panels.
• Basic knowledge of variable speed drives.
• Know how various production machines work.
• Must be willing and able to do standby duty and extra hours.
