Introduction
We are opening a brand new Kauai store in Durbanville and require cashiers and general workers
Please note training for this position will begin on 25 th February 2025
Full training is provided and successful applicants will receive renumeration during training.
Duties & Responsibilities
Your Tasks will be as follows.
SUMMARY
To provide excellent and friendly customer service, as well as processing transactions and following accurate cash handling procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following duties but you may be required to perform other duties not specified in the Job description:
- Greet customer entering store, acknowledged and make customers feel welcome as soon as they walk into the store
- Inform customers of all promotions and make recommendation and educate the customers
- Make additional menu suggestions through suggestive selling and up-selling by asking open-ended questions
- Processing correct orders as per customers’ request, processing customer transactions and handle customers’ payments, answer the telephone and take orders correctly
- Complete understanding of nutritional benefits of products so as to educate customers on these benefits and increase sales
- To be familiar and knowledgeable about all menu products
- Know the layout of the till so as not to delay looking for items
- Deal with customer complaints in a professional manner
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- Clearly inform kitchen of orders
- Assist management and crew members in working together as a team
- Follow cash handling procedure as per cash handling policy
- Ensure high personal hygiene standards
- Cleaning of dirty table between customers and ensuring high hygiene standards in the front of house on an ongoing basis
- Wash hands regularly
Desired Experience & Qualification
In order to be considered for an interview, candidates must
- Be vibrant, reliable, honest and have a passion for the food industry
- Be able to work well under pressure
- Have passed Matric with good scores in Maths and English
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to work well in a team
- Live close to Durbanville or have own transport
Previous experience in the same industry is an added advantage
