Description:
Ensure precise management of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and associated documentation to guarantee customer satisfaction. It is imperative that no merchandise or stock is processed through the Point of Sale (POS) without proper payment.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or at least one year of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in English and the primary language spoken in the local area where the position is offered
- Capability to perform basic calculations with accuracy
- Strong administrative skills are essential
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure
Cash Handling:
- Ensure that all cash, including floats and petty cash, is balanced (no discrepancies)
- Accurately identify and record goods on the Point of Sale Terminal
- Input the correct payment method received from customers on the Point of Sale Terminal
- Maintain an adequate supply of change at all times
- Conduct pick-ups accurately and within established guidelines
- Perform cash-ups accurately at the conclusion of your shift
- Ensure that all daily earnings are securely deposited into the Drop Safe or vault
- Process all transactions related to other stores’ funds, deliveries, and quotes correctly.
Administration:
- Sign, compile, and maintain all documentation pertinent to the Cashier’s responsibilities
Ready for Business:
- Comply with the Ready for Business and Beyond my Control standards as outlined in the CB Way
Customer Service:
- Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient service to all Cashbuild customers during the check-in and check-out processes
- Guide customers to the appropriate personnel for assistance
- Adhere to the company’s dress code at all times
Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OHSA) to protect both customers and staff within your area of responsibility
- Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Security Awareness
Ensure adherence to system password controls at the point of sale. Safeguard cash and transport it to the cash office in accordance with the Cashbuild Way requirements.
